Who we are:
Jim
Jim started his career as a stagehand in local theatre back in 1995. Three decades later, with a broad technical & creative background encompassing festivals, theatre, arts, brands, and music, he continues to relish the challenges and opportunities provided by the industry.
As a founding partner of Engine No4, Jim oversees Site Design and Management across the current festival portfolio whilst also fulfilling Event and Project Director roles on The Warehouse Project, Kendal Calling, and Lost Village.
Jim continues to be active within the theatre and live art sector, recognising the value that the creativity and attention to detail required by those disciplines brings to larger-scale events and brand activations.
Highlights of 2024 include designing the Vodafone 2024 Charge activation and seeing his two sons starting to work on the crew!
Jon
Jon has been in the entertainment industry since leaving school, working in various roles from touring with bands during the Madchester era to production managing the iconic venue, The Haçienda Jon has been instrumental in the inception and development of some of the UK’s most celebrated and well-loved festivals, including Parklife and Bluedot, as well as legendary music series The Warehouse Project. He is a co-founder and Director of Freight Island, a Director of Broadwick Group, a very proud Trustee of The Loop and a Patron of Attitude is Everything.
Jon
Jon is Production Manager at EN4. He works on Snowbombing, Parklife, Lost Village, Warehouse Project, Beyond Midnight, Heritage Live.
Kat
Kat has over 15 years experience working at festivals, events and has it built in her bones due to following her families footsteps. She heads up our freelance recruitment as well as working on the delivery of key projects including Parklife, Kendal Calling, Live at Wythenshawe Park & Warehouse Project
Highlight of 2024: A sunny Kendal Calling, with fantastic crew, great acts and a wonderful scenery! (If you’ve been before you know it’s not always a sunny one).
Katie
Katie brings over 30 years of experience in the arts and live events. She began her career as a Stage Manager in theatre, working both across the UK and internationally. Following over a decade as a producer at the Manchester International Festival (MIF), she joined EN4 after serving as Director of Producing and Production at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
Highlights of 2024 include her first year at EN4, successfully delivering the Vodafone project, and further expanding EN4’s consultancy services.
Marco
Marco joined the team in 2024 after 15 years as a freelancer. Marco worked part time in events as a student while studying for a degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. He worked his way up from crewing to site management over his years as a freelancer.
Highlights for 2024 include – a dry Kendal Calling, delivering Live from Wythenshawe Park.
Meg
Meg graduated from MMU with a degree in Events Management and joined EN4 in 2021. She contributes to key projects including Snowbombing, Parklife, Kendal Calling, Lost Village and Warehouse Project.
Sheena
Sheena graduated from MMU with a degree in Events Management and joined EN4 in 2019. As our Operations Manager, she leads the operations teams on key projects including Snowbombing, Parklife, Lost Village, alongside being one of our account managers on our brand activations.
Highlights of 2024 include producing the best Lost Village to date, whilst enjoying food at their incredible eating venues whenever the gang had a quiet moment across the weekend.
Steven
Steven studied Studio & Live Music Production at SSR, and has extensive experience in site and technical production. He works on major UK and European events, such as Snowbombing, Parklife, Kendal Calling, Live From Wythenshawe Park, and The Warehouse Project. In 2023, he was honored to be named one of Access All Areas’ 30 Under 30.
Highlights of 2024 include becoming a permanent member of the Engine No.4 Site Department, delivering the Warehouse Project Archive shows and completing his telehandler and MEWP qualifications.
Tommy
Tommy has over 30 years of experience in the live music and event industry, encompassing roles ranging from staging, rigging, backline, AV tech and stage management through to tour & production management, project management and festival production management. He tours extensively worldwide with several live and electronic artists as well as managing full technical production on several large scale shows such as Parklife, Snowbombing, Kendal Calling, Bluedot, Heritage Live, Live from Wythenshawe Park.
Will
Will has over 25 years of experience in the live events industry, starting agency side working on events and activations for major brands. Will moved from the world of branded events into festivals, assuming the role of Operations Director on 80,000 capacity Parklife and 30,000 capacity Kendal Calling. His responsibilities including licensing, security, policing and transport. Will is experienced in the differing demands of a 200 capacity press launch right through to a large urban metropolitan festival.
Beth
Beth’s career in live events started with a passion for Technical Theatre, which she studied to develop her skills in production and logistics. This led her to crew on some of the UK’s largest festivals and events, including Parklife, The Warehouse Project, and Live From Wythenshawe Park, where she gained experience working behind the scenes.
Now, as a Content Creator Apprentice with Engine No. 4, Beth combines her technical background with a creative eye, capturing the energy and excitement of our work. She manages our social media channels, creating engaging content that showcases the work we do and the unique experiences we deliver, helping bring our projects to a wider audience.
