Opened in June 2020, Escape to Freight Island is the UK’s first socially-distanced dining and entertainment concept. Engine No.4 managed a month-long build transforming a disused space located at Manchester’s Mayfield Depot, into a 600-person capacity outdoor venue. Food traders, bar operations and technical production comes together in this concept, creating a new cultural hotspot for Manchester City Centre.
